Don't underestimate the prez.....

For all those who do not understand our political setup, here is a short lesson.

We have 3 branches of government:

1. Executive (president, mayor, governor etc...)
2. Legislative (Congress, assembly, senate, city council etc....)
3. Judicial  (COURTS)

Our country functions or fails based on these three branches. Each has a job to do that is fundamentally connected to the other 2.

The executive oversees and proposes things, the legislative writes laws, debates there necessity and passes them, The Judicial reviews laws as to make sure they are constitutional.

This was the reason our forefathers set it up this way, each branch has the power to keep the other 2 at bay to prevent governmental overthrow or takeover by a singular system that would endanger the public freedom.

We now stand at a crossroads, The conservative point of view, having decimated our economy, and pointing the public's head in the wrong direction to notice it, has now taken full control of 2 of the three branches. The Supreme court (now allowing politicians to be bought and sold wholesale by their citizen's united decision) & The congress in Both houses by ignoring the fact that taxes are way too low and America is hurting and needs taxes on the wealthy to be fair and equal so we may sustain our freedoms. The 99% of the population that has been trampled since 1981 is finally getting fed up and taking to the streets. Occupy Wall Street is not a LIBERAL movement, not a CONSERVATIVE movement it is a POPULIST movement. It is incredibly unfair that when people are losing their homes, starving, living in poverty, unable to find work. That our system would not correct itself. We stood at this crossroads once before, the end result "The new deal" which eventually pulled us out of the great depression and rebuilt America the last part of that new deal was enacted by a republican name Eisenhower who authorized the building of hundreds of bridges and interstates that put so many back to work and had a HUGE stimulative effect that by the end of his term we had balanced budget and very low unemployment. Occupy Wall Street remains peaceful and the protests are still growing and spreading, what we are witnessing is an American revolution beginning where if changes are not made to our system that now coddles the rich and ignores the poor, will escalate and begin what will surely be a messy and violent end to the way of life America was proudly built on.

We all need to realize that whether you have Capitalism, socialism, or communism. Elements of all of them need to be  part of a functional free society. As surely as communism leads to corruption and military rule, Capitalism leads to Oligarchy and money rules. Societies can no longer be held back and will fight injustice when it happens and right now in America we have INJUSTICE. A healthy 30 year old with a college degree is likely not to be able to afford his own apartment or to feed himself, clothe his children, own a vehicle. The expense to those who WANT to work but cannot find it is devastating both mentally and physically and needs to be changed. In our history we have had this happen several times but in the past we were able to recover by allowing governmental expansion (raising taxes (temporarily) allowing the government to put people to work (revitalizing our economy) however this time because of the bending and stretching of rules the conservatives have been able to effectively stop this balance from occurring. If this continues or if the conservatives get control of the last sector, the executive branch, I fear America will cease to be free country and a world power as we will have millions starving and dying in what will be America's answer to the French revolution.
