Just a few quick facts as most people have no clue what the affordable care act is.
1. The ACA is not a government run health plan. It is a mandate that every American have health insurance. Since every American will get sick at some point it is a must.
2. The ACA is not a tax, Despite what John Roberts thinks. The IRS has been empowered to collect the penalty if someone does not carry health insurance but the law clearly states that no liens or garnishments may be levied to collect the penalty if someone does not pay.
3. The ACA is NOT socialist as stated in 1. the government will not be running the healthcare choices. Private insurance companies will.
4. The ACA willl do the following, Lower insurance premiums because 30,000,000 new clients will be enrolling. Allow children to remain on their parents plans until age 26, allow those with "pre-existing conditions to get coverage, lower the bankruptcy rate by no less than 20% as Medical bills are the number 1 cause of bankruptcy in America.
This is just a sampling I will do an in depth blog on all aspects of The Affordable Care Act in a few days as there are many more benefits including JOBS that come with full implementation of this law.

MYTHBUSTING
After watching quietly as Mitt (not his name) Willard Romney has become the clear Republican candidate, I am finding that facts are no longer a factor.
I have heard the following recently.
1. President Obama is not an American Citizen.
2. President Obama is spending us into oblivion
3. Charter schools are better than public schools
4. Tax breaks for the rich create jobs
5. We can cut our way out of debt.
These are all MYTHS not a single fact in the bunch.
Here are some facts:
1. President Obama was born in Hawaii this has been documented with both a long and short form birth certificate, confirmed by reports of people who were there and confirmed by birth announcements in the newspaper. You MUST be a psycho to think that all those years ago his parents said to themselves "hmmm our baby might run for president one day so we should put a fake birth announcement in the paper just in case"
2. President Obama by percentage has spent less and less every year he has been in office than any president in the past 60 years. By the numbers he has been possibly the most fiscally responsible president since Eisenhower. I will now cite verifiable sources that are not left or right wing sources.
This graph shows that Obama has increased spending less than any of four previous republican presidents.
In addition:
As you can see, and these numbers come from the office of management and budget & the congressional budget office Obama has the slowest growth in spending of the past 8 presidents.
3. Charter schools vs. public schools. This is a no-brainer. Charter schools number 1 concern is make a profit. Public schools number 1 concern is TEACH YOUR CHILDREN. Charter schools are infamous for suspending students for minor infractions such as not having a pen or the wrong type of shoes on. If charter schools were not all about making money there might be a comparison worth making.
4. I would like just 1 person to respond to this challenge. I want to meet someone whose job was created by a taxcut. JUST 1. I own two corporations and have never hired someone because taxes were low. I hire people for the same reason every business hires people, we need the help to keep up with demand. I repeat:
If I give you a store and tell you "You will never have to pay a dime in taxes" but "you will never have any customers" how many people will you hire?
5. I have never seen anyone cut their way out of debt, It is simple "cutting" means lessening. How can you possibly have more when you lessen something? If I earn $1,000 a month and my expenses are Rent $700 Transportation to and from work only $80 Electricity $40 Necessities (soap, clothes, food, etc..) $100 and health insurance $100 I am now at a deficit my expenses are $1,020 a month but my income is only $1,000. Let us see what will work to remedy this situation.
First I look to see if I can find cheaper housing. NO in fact I find that my little apartment is actually less than anything I can find listed. My electric bill is low I do not own a tv I work alot so I do not use much light. I cannot get it down any further. I cannot go without food or soap or clothing as these are necessary. Health insurance is also a must as I have a chronic condition that would cost thousands a month to treat if I were not insured. So I cannot cut without being either naked, starving, sick, or homeless. BUT If I go and find someone to loan me $10,000 and I buy a mower. Then I find people in my area who will pay me $50 each month to mow their lawns. and I find 10 people who sign up for my service that would add $500 to my monthly income and add a $300 monthly expense to repay the loan a net gain of $200 a month. once the loan is fully repaid the net gain then rises to $500 a month. I borrowed and spent my way out of debt. Funny part is that this is how America and every other country has gotten out of debt in the past. Reagan borrowed and spent more than any president before him to get us out of recession. Eisenhower spent Billions and ended his presidency with a balanced budget and a new interstate highway system. Until conservative learns basic economics America is doomed to be in continuous DEBT!

Insanity becoming the norm......
I have withheld posting for 3 months while the republican primaries narrowed the choices for a candidate. While watching this something happened, The rest of the republican party lost it's mind! Today the U.S. senate rather than working on fixing our economy voted on the Blunt Amendment. This ws a bill that would allow any employer or insurance company the right to deny ANY type of coverage to any individual based on the employer or insurance companies religious beliefs. That means that if you are diagnosed with cancer and your insurance company has a moral objection to chemotherapy you are out of luck. It means if you break your leg and your employer feels that pain medication is morally wrong you would be denied coverage of your medication. This is pure, unadulterated, INSANITY!! When you pay for health insurance you expect to get what you pay for. This bill would do little more than give insurance companies free reign to deny any type of expensive procedure or medication simply because of a moral objection. In addition the very same republican party want government to grow to the largest and most intrusive it has ever been as in Virginia a bill is set to pass and be signed that will require an invasive ultrasound by transvaginal probe, before a woman can have a legal abortion. The test would be done whether the woman or her doctor feels it is necessary and would NOT be covered by insurance as it is almost never a medical necessity. I have made it VERY clear that I am not a democrat but an independent, however watching the republican party these past 90 days is making me think it might be time to register as a Democrat to save American freedom and the free market.
